Union Minister U Kyaw Tin participates in the 23rd ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting via Video Conference

Union Minister for International Cooperation, U Kyaw Tin, participated in the 23rd ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting via video conference on 1-12-2020 at 14:30 hrs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Country Coordinator of the ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations and Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission. The Meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers and representatives from ASEAN Member States and 27 EU Member States, as well as the Secretary General of ASEAN.
The Ministers exchanged views on matters relating to strengthening ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, development of framework for a future ASEAN-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and expeditious conclusion of a mutually beneficial ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement (CATA), including on regional and international issues. The Meeting decided to elevate the ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations to a strategic level.
Union Minister U Kyaw Tin stressed the need to strengthen ASEAN-EU relations especially during challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed thanks to the EU for its Team Europe Package of over Euro 800 million to combat COVID-19 and mitigate its impact in ASEAN and encouraged EU to support ASEAN initiatives to address COVID-19 challenges, including ASEAN Response Fund and ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework.
He also stressed the need for further strengthening of cybersecurity cooperation to realize safe, secure, and resilient cyberspace supportive of the growing digital economy and to further strengthen cooperation in countering the misuse of technology advancement. The Union Minister also thanked the EU for its support to Myanmar in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for providing assistance to Myanmar garment workers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19. He also expressed his keen interest in strengthening trade and economic relations with EU.
The meeting adopted the ASEAN-EU Joint Ministerial Statement on Connectivity and released Co-Chairs' Press Release.
Together with the Union Minister, Permanent Secretary and Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the 23rd ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting.

အစည်းအဝေးတွင် စင်ကာပူနိုင်ငံ၊ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီး Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan နှင့် ဒုတိယဥက္ကဋ္ဌ ဥရောပကော်မရှင်နှင့် ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးနှင့် လုံခြုံရေးမူဝါဒဆိုင်ရာ အဆင့်မြင့်ကိုယ်စားလှယ် Mr. Josep Borrell တို့က ပူးတွဲသဘာပတိများအဖြစ် ဆောင်ရွက်ပြီး၊ အာဆီယံနှင့် ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ အဖွဲ့ဝင် (၂၇) နိုင်ငံမှ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီးများ၊ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များနှင့် အာဆီယံအတွင်းရေးမှူးချုပ်တို့ တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကြသည်။
အစည်းအဝေးတွင် အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ ဆက်ဆံရေးပိုမိုတိုးတက်ခိုင်မြဲစေရေး ကိစ္စရပ်များ၊ အာဆီယံနှင့် ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂအကြား လွတ်လပ်သောကုန်သွယ်မှုစာချုပ်ချုပ်ဆိုနိုင်ရေးအတွက် မူဘောင်သဘောတူညီချက်ကို အမြန်ဆုံးအကောင်အထည် ဖော်ဆောင်နိုင်ရေးနှင့် အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ ဘက်စုံလေကြောင်းဝန်ဆောင်မှုစာချုပ် (ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Service Agreement – CATA) အမြန်ဆုံးထွက်ပေါ်လာရေး အခြေအနေများအပြင် ဒေသတွင်းနှင့် နိုင်ငံတကာရေးရာကိစ္စရပ်များကို အမြင်ချင်း ဖလှယ်ဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ကြသည်။ အစည်းအဝေးတွင် အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ ဆွေးနွေးဖက် ဆက်ဆံရေးကို မဟာဗျူဟာမြောက် ဆက်ဆံရေးအဆင့်သို့ မြှင့်တင်သွားရန် ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့ကြသည်။
ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီး ဦးကျော်တင်က ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ကပ်ရောဂါ ဖြစ်ပွားနေစဉ်ကာလအတွင်း အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ မိတ်ဖက်ဆက်ဆံရေး တိုးတက်ခိုင်မာမှုရှိစေရန် အရေးကြီးကြောင်း အလေးထားဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ပြီး အာဆီယံဒေသအတွင်း ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ရောဂါ တိုက်ဖျက်ရေးအတွက် ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂမှ Team Europe package ဖြင့် ယူရို သန်း ၈၀၀ အကူအညီပေးအပ်ခဲ့သည့်အတွက် ကျေးဇူးတင်ကြောင်းပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။ ထို့အပြင် အာဆီယံ၏ COVID-19 တုံ့ပြန်ရေးရန်ပုံငွေ (COVID-19 ASEAN Response Fund) နှင့် အာဆီယံ၏ ဘက်စုံပြန်လည်ထူထောင်ရေးမူဘောင် (ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework) သို့ အကူအညီများ ပေးအပ်သွားရန် တိုက်တွန်းခဲ့ပါသည်။
ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီးက ဒစ်ဂျစ်တယ်စီးပွားရေး ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်မှုအတွက် လုံခြုံ၊ စိတ်ချရမှုရှိသည့် ဆိုက်ဘာလုံခြုံရေး ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်သွားရန်နှင့် နည်းပညာကို အလွဲသုံးစားပြုသည့် အကြမ်းဖက်မှုများကို ပူးပေါင်းတိုက်ဖျက်ရန် အရေးကြီးကြောင်း အလေးပေးပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။ ထို့အပြင် ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီးက ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂမှ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသို့ COVID-19 ရောဂါ တိုက်ဖျက်ရေးအတွက် အကူအညီများအပါအဝင် အထူးသဖြင့် COVID-19 ရောဂါကြောင့် အလုပ်ဆုံးရှုံးရသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှ အထည်ချုပ်လုပ်သားများအတွက် အကူအညီများပေးအပ်ခဲ့သည့်အတွက် ကျေးဇူးတင်ကြောင်း၊ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအနေဖြင့် ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂနှင့် ကုန်သွယ်ရေးနှင့် စီးပွားရေး ပိုမိုမြှင့်တင်ရေးအတွက် များစွာဆန္ဒရှိကြောင်း ထည့်သွင်းပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။
အစည်းအဝေးမှ (၂၃) ကြိမ်မြောက် အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ ပူးတွဲသဘာပတိများ၏ သတင်းထုတ်ပြန်ချက်နှင့် အာဆီယံ-ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂ ပေါင်းစပ်ဆက်နွယ်မှုဆိုင်ရာ ဝန်ကြီးအဆင့်ပူးတွဲကြေညာချက် (Asean-EU Joint Ministerial Statement on Connectivity) ကို ထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့သည်။
အစည်းအဝေးသို့ ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီးနှင့်အတူ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနမှ အမြဲတမ်းအတွင်းဝန်နှင့် အဆင့်မြင့်အရာရှိများလည်း ပါဝင်တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကြသည်။
